Today I had to start packing. I slept in as long as possible to put it off but after coffee and scrambled eggs it was inevitable. If I don't start packing now I'm going to run out of time in the last week and pack things I should really be saying goodbye to, or put everything in boxes still covered in dust and bring this apartment's dust to the next apartment; and that's just not fair to the new apartment.
One thing you should know about me: I have moved a lot. A lot a lot. My trooper parents who are always there helping me move calculated that we've probably moved me about 13 times in the last 7 years (there was a lot of from here back to there moving) so needless to say I'm a bit of an expert at this point. I always start by sorting out what I want to keep vs. what has seen better days... No need moving unnecessary weight. Then I sit down with a bucket of hot water and disinfectant and wash down everything to remove any dust or cat hair (ya my current roommate is the furriest cat in life) before bubble wrapping and organizing into boxes.
Packing is going to take me a long time, especially this time when Matt and I will probably end up with a lot of doubles of things - I think we need to avoid doubles as much as possible because by no means are we moving into the Taj Mahal... It's only 700 sq. feet, folks!
Anyways, organizing is fun - blah blah, I'll touch base when I've moved forward a bit in the process.
